Sleep

Not getting enough sleep can play havoc on your body and brain function. To be able to think clearly and reach new mental insights, you need around 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night to help reset your brain.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential components for your brain. These fats are believed to be the reason why babies consistently score high on IQ tests. As your body cannot naturally produce such fats, it is essential that you include them in your daily diet by eating oily fish and liver.

Vitamin D

Regular exposures to sunlight are essential for healthy brain function, but if this is not an option for you, consider taking vitamin D supplement of around 50 to 70 ml as the acceptable dosage. Alternatively, you may prefer tanning beds for your regular dose of vitamin D.

Listen to music

Extensive studies have found that listening to slow music can boost your brain memory. Classical music such as Mozart can actually make you smarter by boosting your cognitive levels and verbal communication skills.

Exercise

It is without a doubt that exercise is the cure for every problem as proven by science, and memory is no different. Regular workouts increase mental alertness by supplying more oxygen to the brain. The increased cell growth in certain parts of your brain plays an important role for your memory.

Recent studies have found that people who do light workouts are better at remembering past events than those who don’t exercise at all. A jogging session three or four times a week will not only keep you fit, but also improve your brain function, verbal, and spatial memory.
